Back to Basics

I forgot to do my stats this morning and I have already eaten etc so tomorrow. I am not confident that I have lost any though. I am getting back to basics this week and going to be religious about counting the calories. I won't be training so hard as I am giving my body a wee break but I will still do something.

I think I am still on a plateau. I am winding down the breast feeding now so I am going to drop my calories to 1,600 from 1,800 and not do as much aerobic exercise as I have been doing for the triathlons and see if that gets me over the edge.

How is everyone else doing?

Happy Blitzing!

  1. I am still breastfeediong too but not as before, it seems like it is more for insurance not for feeding,,he eats a lot of solid food though, baby cereals, breastfeeds around 4-5times during the day..Somedays I eat 1500kcal and some days I eat up to 2000kcal, I'm trying to confuse my body :) it's a good way to break the plateau...and ofcourse decreasing the carbs may help too..I didn't do a lot of exercise this week, maybe 3 times cardio, 2 times strength..I got my period and I'm resting now..Maybe still 2 days then I'll start reving it up with cardio and weight training :) I have this route of 8km that I want to "ralk" everyday when I get to Croatia :)

    cheers!!

  2. I've put my cals down to 1,500 a day though I don't mind if I go over as I am still feeding, just not as much. Callum feeds maybe 4 times a day so he has dropped a lot of feeds so I am guessing it is ok to drop the cals a bit to get over this plateau.

Great news on the 8km route. Do you find you are really excited now about going to Croatia and getting into a really good workout routine? I can't wait till next week when I can start training again LOL! I promised Scott I would take time off this week as he has hardly seen me recently.

  3. My baby just turned 1 this week and we are also still nursing about 4 times a week. My weight loss has also slowed down a bit, but I'm am nervous about dropping my calories down to 1500 cals because at the beginning I think I gained weight because I wasn't eating enough. Now, I know lactation is different at the end than it is at the beginning. I try to leave a deficient of 300-400 cals a day. Several weeks ago I had 2 lighter training weeks and the weight just flew off... that's why I think I still might need the extra calories. Anyway, I made it to my pre-preg weight from baby #2! Only 3 more to do to get to my pre-preg weight from baby #1! Though, I think things in the belly area will never be the same again.
